Causes of LSIL

There are several noted causes of LGSIL. However, these causes are highly debatable. On the other hand, there are also some risk factors associated with the condition. Examples of these causes are minor injuries in the lower part of the uterus, being sexually active at an early stage of life, multiple partners and women who smoke. Above all, the most common cause of LGSIL is HPV or the so-called Human Papilloma Virus. This is a type of triggering microorganism which is transferred to a person from an infected sexual partner. When HPV has been lodged in the cervix, this will cause for the cervix’s epithelial tissue to change. But there are also some researches stating that LSIL’s cause is still unknown.

Pap Smear: The Diagnostic Procedure for LSILLSIL

By nature, the early stages of LGSIL are asymptomatic. This means that the woman who has it will not feel its associated signs and symptoms. The primary diagnostic procedure conducted in patients suspected with LGSIL is Pap smear. This is a diagnostic procedure which is done in order to determine if there are abnormal growths of cells in the cervix of the patient. The test features obtaining cells and these are subjected for study.
